CONSTRUCTION WORK AT THE MAISON SAINT-GABRIEL
Important Information for Visitors
As of August 3rd 2026
The Congrégation de Notre-Dame will be undertaking major construction work to build the future archives pavilion.
The construction of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame’s future archives pavilion will allow its collections to be brought together at the Maison Saint-Gabriel site, alongside those of the Marguerite-Bourgeoys Historic Site. This significant project will help preserve, manage, and showcase these exceptional heritage collections while encouraging greater collaboration between the teams that make up the Pôle culturel Marguerite-Bourgeoys.
To ensure the safety of visitors, staff, and contractors on site, temporary measures will be implemented for the entire duration of the construction work.
Reservation required for all visits
Due to construction fencing and the temporary relocation of the site’s entrance, no visits without a reservation will be possible during the work. All visitors must book their visit in advance.
When your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email with the TEMPORARY ACESS MAP for the site.
No public signage will provide direct access to the temporary entrance.

What to Expect During the Construction Work
Despite all efforts made to minimize the impact of the construction site, some temporary inconveniences may occur:
- Occasional noise related to construction work;
- Increased traffic from construction vehicles;
- Changes to usual on-site routes;
- Limited access to certain areas.
We are doing everything we can to maintain a pleasant and safe visitor experience.
